Working with Clay

I made this heart and these flowers from clay which was then fired. 

I have used acrylic paint and varnished the heart.

I plan to make more hearts but with ribbon as Christmas tree
ornaments, and I will also make more flowers but with magnets on the back for presents.

A new project to make over this little foot stool.

I"m thinking white with a hook rug covering.

Laundry Tub #2 Makeover

The completed laundry tub,

I'm very happy with the final result.

I've planted a "Green Goddess" in the tub.

Laundry tub #2

My brother kindly sorced me another laundry Tub.

It is a slightly different shape to the previous one.

I'm going to give it a makeover! :)

Kleer - Kast Resin

My second experimentation with Kleer-Kast Resin.

This time round my items set much better!

I think these will make neat magnets to give as pressie's

Catherine's Mirror

This project for was to paint moulding for a mirror.

What I like about doing painting projects for Catherine is that it gets me doing things out of my "box".

 

 I used gesso to give texture and dry brushed silver over the brown colour which matches the bath.

I'm really pleased with the end result.

Mirror looks great up on the wall in her bathroom.

Amigurumi Toys

 I made this little white bear  for a lady I work with.

I made this little baby owl and it is for sale on the website "Felt".

"i CLAY" Creations...

While at Bunnings Warehouse I found myself in the art/craft aisle....here I found some "i CLAY"
I had fun with my son making some bright and fun creatures.
This is such a soft material and it air dries firm.
Mixing colours is easy too.

These were made for a work colleague of my brothers.

Photo Wraps

I like making these photo wraps
to give as gifts.
I learnt this technique working at a laminating
and mounting company called Artmount.
I just scaled down the size to suit 6x4 photo's.

Firstly I laminate the image.
Next I cut a board like 3mm card or Ultra- smaller than the image.
Then I cover the back of the photograph with double sided tape,
and basically wrap the image over the board.

To finish it off and keep it looking tidy, stick a piece of
card on the back then add self adhesive magnets.

Puff Painted T- Shirt

I was in a chemist in Titirangi and saw they sold Puff Paints!

I hadn't seen these since I was a little girl so I had to buy some.
I found a T-Shirt of Mason's that had a couple of stains on it and drew
on these "dare devil's" character's.

Had to add a little devil tail at the back too!

Laundry Tub Make Over

My brother gave me this old laundry tub to use as a planter pot.
I decided to give it a make over with some tiles I was given from a pool contractor.
Thankyou John Roberts and Global Tiles :)

I'm really happy with the result and I have another tub to make over
which I will blog when finished.
